Sharing
for this week is transportation. Bring
an item or a picture that shows a form of transportation. What are you going to tell us about this
picture/item.
I
have introduced the concept of “finger spelling”. Use the hand you do not write with and tap
the thumb, tap the pointer finger, etc. putting each finger down after each
sound is made. For example: “fan” would look like this: raise your thumb for “f”; pointer finger “a”;
tall finger “n”. Next time your child
asks, “How do I spell…” suggest “finger spelling”.
Please
encourage practicing penmanship at home.
Occasionally I see the lower case “m” or “n” look like a bird
flying. All letters need to start at the
top and go down, just like “gravity”. Make
sure letters are not “shrinking” or “floating”…oh,,,, and don’t forget to use
the “pincher fingers”.
Thank
you to all the parents who are participating in the weekly notes and
homework. This communication is very
important! Your child is accountable for
their homework and as parents, need to be aware of what we are doing in the
classroom.
If
you have any questions or concerns, please call, send a note/email, or stop by.
